Northern Pastoral Region Advent Day of Recollection
November 30. 2022
Held at St. John Vianney Parish, Barrie
Luncheon Hosted by Serra Club Toronto Central
The day of recollection for Priests in the Northern Pastoral Region commenced with religious services comprised of Adoration Prayers before the Blessed Sacrament, Spiritual Recollection followed by Benediction led by The Most Reverend Bishop Boissonneau, Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto, Northern Pastoral Region.
A delicious lunch (penne, veal cutlets, veggies, coffee and dessert) prepared by Tina and Enzo from Basilicata Cultural Society, followed in the beautifully decorated Parish Hall compliments of the CWL ladies and the Knights of Columbus at St. John Vianney Parish in Barrie.
There were approximately 50 Priests in attendance from the various Parishes in the Northern Pastoral Region.
Serrans pictured in attendance: Mario Biscardi, Joe Gianna, Vince Primucci, Pat Mondesir, Antonella Nardulli-Nigro, Tony Nigro, Connie Cristinziano
Having participated for my first time at this event, I can say that this event reflected Serra’s mission to foster, promote and affirm priestly vocations and a time and opportunity to celebrate and show our appreciation and importance of our Priests and that we need to continue our mission to pray for more priests and sustain the ones that we have.
I enjoyed the opportunity of the meet and greet and conversing with all the various priests. As I looked around the room, there was an aura of happiness and appreciation generated from the many smiles and thank you’s to the Serrans for such a lovely time.
St. Junipero Serra, pray for us and for an increase in “Labourers for the Harvest” for our Church!
