Meeting Times and Location

Serrans meet every First Friday at St. Patrick’s Church for Mass at 8.15 a.m. followed by a general meeting.

The Executive meets monthly at the John Paul Pastoral Centre, on the Tuesday before the First Friday.

Members

Our Club roster presently stands at 33 members.

Annual Dues

Annual dues are $260 for a married couple and $160 for a single person.

Annual Club Activities

Reception held jointly by the Serra Club of Vancouver and the Fraser Valley West Club
on the occasion of the visit of the President of Serra International
Serrans  at the Annual Retreat at the Seminary of Christ the King in Mission

The Club’s major annual activities include:

  • Constant Prayers for Vocations
  • Annual Golf Tournament & Appreciation Dinner for all the Priests & Seminarians of the Archdiocese
  • Support & assist at the World Day of Consecrated Life.
  • Support and assist the Archdiocese for the St. John Vianney Fund for Seminarians.
  • Contribute towards Retreat for prospective young ladies to become Nuns.
  • Assist & contribute toward annual BBQ for Seminarians & their families.
  • Financing deserving cases of Seminarians on recommendation from the Chaplain/Vocations Director.
  • Serrans act as ushers for major diocesan events at the Cathedral, including Ordinations, Mass for deceased Bishops, Priests, Nuns & Brothers and Funeral Masses of the Clerics & Religious.
  • Work closely with the Vocation Director’s Office for all vocation related programs in the Archdiocese.
  • Serrans attend an annual three days retreat at the Abbey in Mission.
  • Scholarship Fund Bursary, to provide two annual bursaries for Seminarians of the Archdiocese
  • Provide an annual award for the Seminarian Oratory Contest held at Christ the King Seminary in Mission.
  • Individual adoption of Seminarians & build relationship by sending them encouragement & birthday cards.
  • Our members also serve on the Regional and National Committees of the Serra Organization.
  • Provide assistance towards monthly Discerners meeting and attend Holy Hour once a month at St. Francis De Sales Church in Burnaby.
  • Join Serra Fraser Valley West Club on Zoom, in Praying the Rosary for Vocations every Wednesday at 7.30 pm.
  • Serrans attend Litany of Saints event on Nov 1st (All Saints) at the Church of Our Lady of Assumption & assist with Guarding the Relics & contribute towards the reception.
