Serra Club of Kamloops Diocese is pleased to announce to the community of our Serra Clubs the anniversary of a momentous event, recently recognized on October 27, 2019. With the grace of God, under Our Lady’s protection and with the intercession of St. Junipero Serra, our Club has reached its young age of two years. This calls for celebration!
Under the direction of its Board of Trustees, the Club has worked diligently during the past 23 months under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and being guided by the exhortation of St. Augustine: “Pray as though everything depends on God.· Work as everything depends on us” to foster vocations within our Diocese.
To remember this anniversary, and to recognize this effort, our Spiritual Director, Most Reverend Joseph Phuong Nguyen, Bishop of Kamloops jointly with the Serra Club President, are organizing an event to celebrate the work that has been done within our Diocese to build up the culture of vocations.
This celebration event will take place on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Kamloops, BC. It will start with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 11:00 AM during which new Serra members will be inducted, and the Club’s recently elected executive will be installed. A catered lunch will follow at 12:00 noon and subsequently a meeting will start at 1:00 PM. During this time together, His Excellency Bishop Joseph will review his vision for vocations and the status of the plan for the Diocese. Following this, members of our executive will briefly overview of the Serra Organizational and Operating Model which is of particular interest to the new members.
